Tereos Internacional is planning to spend about $476 million through 2015 for the expansion of its Brazilian sugar-and-ethanol unit, Guarani, according to a regulatory filing. Guarani wants to expand cane-crushing capacity by 3.5 million metric tons, sugar-production capacity by 170,000 metric tons and ethanol-output capacity by 51.5 million gallons per year, the company said. Brazil's BNDES will provide $475.6 million under an 11-year loan, Tereos said.
