Destination Interchange LLC has purchased 17 acres of property near Destination Daytona in Florida, where it plans to build a commercial center. The Ormond Beach location provides ample frontage on US Highway 1 and may allow for four to five outparcels and additional retail, including the potential for a midsize box location.
The 122-room Courtyard By Marriott Daytona Beach Speedway/Airport in Daytona Beach, Fla., has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Waramaug Hospitality Asset Management. Marriott will retain management of the property, which underwent a $1.2 million refurbishment in 2011.
Lesa France Kennedy will become the first female CEO of International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla., in June when her uncle, James C. France, leaves the post to become chairman of the board. Kennedy's father, Bill France, was a son of the founder of NASCAR.
Jaffe Corp., of Ormond Beach, Fla., has bought its third shopping center in the Daytona Beach area for $20 million. The 234,045-square-foot shopping center includes tenants such as Publix, Bealls, Ross Dress for Less, Dollar Tree, GNC and Hallmark.
