A Rhode Island student who experiences frequent illnesses caused by autoimmune diseases will graduate from high school this spring as the first student in the state to complete nearly of all high-school courses online. The virtual classes enabled 17-year-old Daniel Collin McNulty to work on a laptop -- when he was well enough -- to study during evenings, weekends and summers. Education officials said McNulty's success is a credit to his own hard work, as well as that of educators and others in his school district who helped expand the online offerings.
