Nordstrom plans to outfit 5,000 staffers at its 116 full-line stores with mobile devices designed to improve customer service, President Blake Nordstrom told shareholders gathered for the upscale retailer's annual meeting this week. The gadgets will let salespeople search for out-of-stock items and process credit-card transactions so shoppers won't have to wait in line.
