Research In Motion thinks the QNX operating system that powers its PlayBook tablet will enable the company to push its tablet and smartphone software into automobiles. QNX Software Systems, which RIM bought last year, already powers software and entertainment in about 20 million cars. Also at RIM, executives say they will "vigorously defend" a class-action shareholder lawsuit that alleges the BlackBerry maker knowingly concealed negative information about its "aging product line."
