A policy of play first and eat lunch afterward has led to less food being thrown out, better-focused students and fewer behavior problems at schools in California's Pleasanton Unified School District. Not all of the students are happy with the change, but Donlon Elementary Principal Barbara Heisser said it gives children time to eat without feeling rushed and is a "much healthier way for kids to make sure they're eating the foods they need to be eating."
