Singapore Airlines is rolling out a no-frills carrier to cash in on a growing market for low-budget fares and to compete with established players like AirAsia X. Singapore expects its new subsidiary to be up and running within a year. "We are seeing a new market segment being created, and this will provide another growth opportunity for the SIA Group," said the airline's CEO, Goh Choon Phong.
