Good management and career opportunities are among the biggest factors that make talented workers want to stick with their companies, according to a survey by the Corporate Executive Board. More than 40% of employees said money is important, but it wasn't a major factor in keeping people on board. "Compensation may play an important role in recruiting, but CFOs tend to overestimate its impact on retention," says Michael Griffin, executive director of the finance strategy practice at Corporate Executive Board.
