It's important to understand a blogger's niche and their personal style, then tailor pitches to meet their needs and be prepared to handle questions about advertising, Falls said.
The Federal Trade Commission has set a July 11 deadline to receive public input on a major overhaul of its online advertising guides, which were released in 2000. The new versions will incorporate recommendations on social media, mobile devices and other emerging platforms.
