Work to remove the Elwha Dam and the Glines Canyon Dam in Washington state's Olympic National Park is slated to begin this fall and will become the largest dam removal project in U.S. The $324.7 million dam removals will restore salmon runs in the Olympic National Park that are vital to the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe. The Elwha Dam dates to 1913, while the Glines Canyon Dam came online 14 years later.
