"In a market like this, every company and venture capitalist is taking a second look at whether to wait for a year or take advantage of the current market conditions," said Tom Shanahan of Needham & Co.

Fifty-seven percent of small and medium-sized businesses plan to keep at least 75% of their data storage on premises, according to a survey from data-storage provider Drobo. Nearly all of those surveyed said they have no intention of pushing all storage into a cloud system, and 89% said they aren't thrilled with big-box storage products.
