A Wisconsin judge has overturned a controversial law passed earlier this year that weakened the collective-bargaining rights of many public employees, including teachers. Judge Maryann Sumi of Dane County Circuit Court granted a permanent injunction, which voids the law, saying the passage of the law was not in compliance with open meeting requirements. The Wisconsin Supreme Court is scheduled to take the case June 6 and could reinstate the law.
