Gevo, which is converting a corn-ethanol plant in Luverne, Minn., to produce isobutanol, has signed a deal for the same modifications at Redfield Energy's ethanol plant in Redfield, S.D. The expected isobutanol output of the two plants is estimated to reach 60 million gallons annually by 2012. The company is aiming to retrofit a third biorefinery and bring total output capacity to 110 million gallons by 2013.
