Cats that roam outdoors are at risk for exposure to ticks, which can trigger Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Lyme disease and related illnesses that also affect humans, notes Marci Kladnik, a board member of Catalyst for Cats. Kladnik advises owners on ways to spot and remove ticks from a feline and urges them to routinely check their cats for any sign of tick infestation.
