Fast-food restaurants' proximity to schools does not appear to increase obesity in teens because the eateries are so ubiquitous, according to a study in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior. Among 552 students from 11 high schools near fast-food establishments in Maine, a quarter were found to be overweight or obese while 73% had normal weight, experts said.
