Despite the sector's increasing job availability, the recovery of the nation's construction industry may still be years away, according to an economist with Associated Builders & Contractors. Increased competition for smaller projects and inflated prices for construction materials means that profit margins are on the decline, according to a construction company director and government data. One area where growth is predicted, however, is the health care sector -- the Associated Builders & Contractors economist said he expects construction of hospitals and clinics to take off in the next 10 to 12 months.
