The social giant offers the option of highly targeted offers, allowing it to bypass Groupon's sometimes unwanted e-mails, and could let companies offer free deals in exchange for Facebook "likes" and other social media value exchanges. "Groupon may have the early lead in this fight for consumer spending, but the combination of Facebook targeting, Credits and value-exchange engagement advertising is the bookmaker's favorite," Samit writes.
