The FDA recently approved an autologous collagen procedure, though it is likely to be more expensive and might not work any better than older dermal fillers, plastic surgeons say. "It is going to be simple to inject. But what is unknown is whether it is going to turn out to be better than other fillers," said plastic surgeon Thomas Mustoe, a professor at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
