About 35% of 93 U.S. college students said they used Web-based smartphone applications even while driving, and 10% of them did so "often," "almost always" or "always," according to a study to be presented at the American Psychological Association meeting. "The participants seemed to understand that using mobile apps while driving is dangerous, and some have even experienced motor vehicle crashes while using mobile apps, but they continue to do it," study author Lauren McCartney said.
