A number of dance studios in the Miami area offer inclusive programs for individuals with special needs. The Thomas Armour program allows students with and without disabilities to train together in ballet, tap and modern dance. "We believe in a universal design that challenges our teaching approach to be inclusive and challenges the student to achieve his or her personal best," program administrator Geannina Burgos said. "We agree with the current thoughts on education that inclusion, whenever possible, is preferable to separation just as it is in everyday life."
