To offset operating costs linked to the rising price of fuel, and to compensate for the effects of political instability in the region, Middle Eastern airlines must boost revenue from ancillary offerings, an observer says. "I don't feel the carriers in this region are as focused on ancillary revenues as some of their peers who operate in different geographies," said Toby Stokes, Middle East and North Africa Aviation sector leader for Ernst & Young.
