For the first time, sales of Internet-connected TVs will outpace those of game consoles in 2011, part of a trend toward video devices that can directly access the Internet, according to a report by Informa Telecoms & Media. "In 2016, 1.8 billion in-home video devices -- including tablets -- will be sold, an increase of almost 800% from today. And by this time, 70% of all in-home video devices sold will be able to connect to the Internet," said Andrew Ladbrook, an analyst at the company.
