Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., on Tuesday wrote to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson asking for an explanation about the agency's National Ambient Air Quality Standard proposal. The EPA's 2010 ozone standards proposal violates a Clean Air Act provision that would require the evaluation of a less restrictive option, Inhofe said in the letter. EPA earlier postponed the issuance of its final ozone standards slated for Friday after Republican lawmakers and industry groups campaigned hard to suspend the NAAQS proposal.
