Analysis by research firm Wildcat shows that wind farms would be good for Kansas' economy, according to Richard Jarboe, a representative of Indeck Energy Services. The first 1,100 megawatts of wind capacity in Kansas would bring in a total of $1.5 billion to the state's economy, according to the analysis, which Jarboe presented to Pratt County, Kan., commissioners. Wind farms generate about $4.36 million per year for residents who lease their lands to wind farms, the analysis added.
