Not every sale pans out, but there are certain preparations that you can make to ensure that the frequency and severeness of these failures are minimized, writes Dave Kurlan. First, make sure you have other leads so that you won't waste time on lost causes. Also, have a set sales process with defined decision points where you can either walk away or keep going with a sale, Kurlan advises.
