An Ohio school district recently wrapped up a six-week summer program for students with autism and other special needs that provided lessons in academics and social skills. "The program focuses on helping students retain the basic skills of what they learned in school this past year while also enjoying recreational summer activities," program director Santonia McCoy-Williamson said. Campers participated in field trips and swimming activities, as well as remediation programs in science, math and language arts.
