The White House has credited Twitter with helping President Barack Obama secure a debt-ceiling deal with Republican lawmakers. Obama's Twitter account published more than 100 tweets as the negotiations reached a boiling point -- a blitz that angered some Twitter users and saw Obama lose thousands of followers, but aides say the tweets helped maintain pressure on GOP negotiators. "What's exciting about Twitter is it's another way to have an ongoing dialogue between many Americans across the country," said Macon Phillips, the Obama administration's director of digital strategy.
