When food becomes difficult to swallow or gets stuck going down the throat it could be eosinophilic esophagitis, which is inflammation of the esophagus, or anesophageal bolus impaction. The conditions, more common in summer and fall when allergies are prevalent, may need attention from a gastroenterologist who can perform an endoscopy to view the esophagus to determine the cause of the problem.
