The U.S. Department of Transportation reported a drop of more than 20% in customer complaints about airlines in June. "Many airlines continue to invest significant time and resources in improved baggage-handling processes and systems," said Steve Lott, a spokesman for the Air Transport Association. Separately, the Department of Transportation also said that 14 planes spent more than three hours on the tarmac in June, down from 16 in May.
