Snakeheads feed ravenously on smaller fish, can survive icy winters and even live out of water for several days, and the fish has made the list of 10 species that could invade the Great Lakes. The fish have been found in the waters of nine U.S. states; plans to eradicate the species, like those aimed at the Asian carp, are on the back burner due to a lack of funding.
