Chief financial officers should learn to be more creative in their leadership styles, says Hal Gregersen, a professor of leadership at INSEAD. Innovative leaders are known for the tendency to question, observe, network, experiment and associate. Most importantly, they have the ability to connect with others to promote their ideas. "If CFOs want to create value in their roles, they have to be connected to the jobs that their products and services are doing," Gregersen says.
