New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed a law that would allow shelters to euthanize, move or adopt animals that had age, health or behavior issues before a seven-day holding period was complete. In a news release, Christie said the law "would create the potential that older or mildly injured animals could be euthanized immediately, and before a diligent search by an owner could locate a lost pet."
