Mobile devices and technologies will prove critical to the evolution of the health care IT field, according to a report from Frost & Sullivan that finds that doctors and hospitals are turning to smartphones, tablets and machine-to-machine networks in increasing numbers. The authors of the study recommend that health care professionals embrace a broad collection of devices and technologies rather than relying on a single platform or solution for such things as remote diagnostics and patient monitoring.
