Students in England should continue to study maths until age 18, according to recent report from the Conservative Party. In the report, TV presenter Carol Vorderman found that about half of 16-year-old students score below average on maths tests, and just 15% continue to study the subject beyond that year. The report was commissioned by Education Secretary Michael Gove and Prime Minister David Cameron in 2009, when they were in the opposition party.
