A study in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found that participants who reduced their physical activity by 50% for three days had a twofold increase in postprandial glucose response to meals. The findings suggest that even small reductions in physical activity and daily exercise may cause acute bodily changes linked to type 2 diabetes, study lead author John Thyfault said.
