The 2011 Desktop Dining Survey found that 83% of employees say they eat meals and snacks at their desks. Registered dietitian Toby Smithson of the American Dietetic Association says workers may get more accomplished by eating while working, but it could backfire "as desktops hide bacteria that can lead to foodborne illness."
