Teens participating in a pilot obesity program at Tamarac Center for Health & Well-Being in Fremont, Mich., lost an average of 32.5 pounds through a closely monitored diet and exercise. Registered dietitian Cathy Gragg says the program looked at peer pressure and sedentary lifestyles and aimed for weight loss of one to two pounds per week because the children are still growing.
