The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis in Japan hasn't dimmed the prospects of reactor projects and might have spurred safer technology, including small modular reactors, experts say. "What Fukushima has done is create a much larger incentive for utilities to purchase more advanced technologies," said Per Peterson, chairman of the Reactor and Fuel Cycle Technology Subcommittee of the federal blue-ribbon commission.
