House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., is proposing to scrap a provision requiring states to appropriate 10% of federal surface transportation funds for "museums, education and preservation." States could instead use that funding for other infrastructure projects. "Next week, President Obama will finally unveil his latest jobs plan, and I believe there will be areas where we can work together to produce real results that will help job creators get people back to work," Cantor said.
