MyPyramid.gov was replaced by ChooseMyPlate.gov. While ChooseMyPlate helps people make healthier food choices, the simplicity of the divided-plate concept leaves things out, nutrition experts say. Marjorie Sawicki, assistant professor of nutrition and dietetics at St. Louis University, said the concept does not emphasize water, weight loss or physical activity, or provide information about disease risk. Sawicki also questioned how ChooseMyPlate works in areas of food insecurity.
