A study in Sao Paulo, Brazil, found teaching schoolchildren about healthy lifestyles had an effect in the home and helped reduce their parents' risk of developing coronary heart disease. The program, which the study's authors described as a new strategy for cardiovascular-risk reduction, included films, plays and discussions involving the children and a multidisciplinary team made up of nurses, psychologists, nutritionists and physical education teachers.
