A molecule called PHA-767491 eliminates chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells in blood samples and could target dividing leukemia cells in lymph nodes, according to an Irish study published in Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. Results of the preclinical study gives "some hope for the future, especially as related trials with patients are already under way," said Corrado Santocanale of the National University of Ireland, Galway.
