The U.S. Department of Energy has released new guidelines for protecting the power grid from cyber-attack and making sure it can still function in the event one does occur. The department's Roadmap to Achieve Energy Delivery Systems Cybersecurity updates a 2006 version by taking into account new technologies, U.S Energy Secretary Steven Chu said. The plan highlights five key areas for increased public-private cooperation, including risk management, recovery, restoration and post-incident analysis.
