Lawns that sustained drought damage can be rejuvenated with core aeration, slit seeding, fertilizer and compost as fall arrives in the Northeast, said Robert Schucker, president of R&S Landscaping in Midland Park, N.J. Core aeration can enhance the health of the soil, and slit seeding can promote germination, thereby increasing the absorption of fertilizer and compost, Schucker said.
