Scientists at Stanford University hope to gain insights into brain mechanisms and biomedical research using a miniature microscope that fits comfortably on a mouse's head, like a hat, while providing detailed images of the mouse brain. Made of readily available components, the miniature microscope does not impede movement is also cost effective. "[It] may lead to a quantum jump in the ubiquity of imaging in biomedical research," said UC San Diego professor David Kleinfeld.
