About 91% of all would-be grooms still buy engagement rings at brick-and-mortar jewelry stores rather than making the purchase online, according to a survey from TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com. About one-third of ring buyers went to a chain for at least a portion of the ring, while the rest split their spending between other outlets such as department stores, luxury jewelers and warehouse stores.
