Just in time for the aging boomer cohort, nanotechnology is coming into its own to address many of the ills associated with aging. Nanoscience is at the juncture of engineering, physical and life sciences, writes professor J. Andres Melendez of the University of Albany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. It has been the source of major advances in the fight against both the degenerative diseases, such as arthritis, that are part of aging as well as other ills, including diabetes, that often develop in later years.
