The "Paleolithic diet" is a fad diet that is not sustainable or healthy for the long term, CNN nutrition expert Dr. Melina Jampolis says. Jampolis says the diet reduces consumption of processed foods and sugars and increases intake of fruits and vegetables, but the downsides include eliminating dairy and all grains and promoting high levels of saturated fat from animal protein, which could drive up cholesterol levels.
