Alaska intends to move an oil and natural gas lease sale from late October to December to boost promotion of the event and add more properties, said Dan Sullivan, commissioner of the state's Department of Natural Resources. "We have the potential to gain back some more leases that either have expired or have come out of litigation, and we want to be able to get as many leases into that lease sale as possible," Sullivan said. The lease sale includes 14.7 million acres on the North Slope, in the North Slope foothills and in the Beaufort Sea.
