Researchers at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center have been testing a brain cancer vaccine on dogs for three years and have recently begun to conduct human tests. Veterinarian Elizabeth Pluhar and John Ohlfest, Ph.D., developed the vaccine using cells from a dog's own brain tumor, and all tested dogs' cancer has completely resolved when the vaccine is combined with surgery. Sixty-three-year-old John Huls said of the treatment, "This has been a godsend. I've never felt better."
